Timothy T. Day Overlook Reveal

On December 6, 2014, the Timothy T. Day Overlook at the National Marine Corps Heritage Center was opened to the public after a small, private dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting.  The Overlook will greet visitors to the Semper Fidelis Memorial Park Center and provide impressive views of the Museum grounds, the National Museum of the Marine Corps, and the Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel.  It will also serve as a unique venue for promotions, awards, and other special ceremonies.

Since one of the primary missions of the Timothy T. Day Foundation is to support the animal rescue community, a beautiful bronze statue of a German Shepherd prominently stands watch over this Overlook and honors all military dogs who have provided loyal service and selfless devotion, often making the ultimate sacrifice.  They remain ever faithful to the Corps and proudly bear the title of United States Marine.

At the dedication, Tim and Sandy Day were joined by the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps – General John Paxton, many of the recipients of our AMP and MBA Fellowships at HBS, and representatives of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.  The event was followed by lunch and a meeting with the Fellows.
