Our thirtieth recipient, Brigadier General Adam L. Chalkley, completed the AMP at Harvard Business School in October 2019.  Adam is serving as Commanding General of 3D Marine Logistics Group, tasked with providing uninterrupted logistics support to Marine Forces in the INDOPACIFIC theater of operations.  He was commissioned in 1993 and has commanded at all levels throughout his career.  He previously served as the Assistant Deputy Commandant for Installation and Logistics (LP) Headquarters Marine Corps in the Pentagon.  As a Lieutenant Colonel, he commanded Combat Logistics Battalion 4 and led the Battalion during combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  As a Colonel, he served as Chief of Staff for the 2d Marine Logistics Group, commanded Combat Logistics Regiment 2 and later the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Africa, where he led a task force to provide regional security and conduct crisis response operations to safeguard U.S. citizens and diplomatic missions in Africa, while progressing Theater Campaign Plan objectives.  He has also commanded in entry-level training and recruiting environments.  During his staff assignments, he has directed U.S. Marine deployment and distribution operations in Iraq, as well as U.S. Marine logistics operations in Afghanistan.  Additionally, he directed the U.S. European Command’s joint logistics operations, working closely with allies and partners across Europe to promote regional stability and to set conditions for security cooperation activities.  Adam holds a BA in History from Texas A&M University, a Masters in Military Studies from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and a Masters in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.  He was a distinguished graduate of both Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the Naval War College.
