In 2004, three friends came together with the goal of helping homeless animals. They believed that by working together and engaging a broader section of the Jackson Hole community, lives could be saved and lasting change was possible. They were absolutely right. Over the past twenty years the Animal Adoption Center (AAC) has positively impacted the lives of more than 29,000 animals across Wyoming and beyond.
The AAC attributes its many successes to their proverbial village which includes volunteers, fosters, adopters, partners, and donors. Together, they find loving families for homeless animals found in overcrowded regional shelters as well as animals in places such as Laredo, Texas. The AAC not only welcomes dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and conditions into their rescue program, it is able to assist those with special medical needs. As a result, they are able to make bright futures possible for the animals that need them most!
In addition to rescue and adoption, the AAC attacks the root of the pet overpopulation program through its Spay/Neuter Wyoming Program. Through collaboration with nine vet clinics across Wyoming, low-income families have access to affordable spay/neuter services.
On the Wind River Reservation, they work with Tribal Leadership to address the most severe pet overpopulation problem in the state.
Through free clinics, their medical team spays/neuters 600+ animals, administers 2,000+ vaccines and provides emergency medical care to dozens of animals annually.
From supporting impactful programs to investing in the AAC’s permanent home in downtown Jackson,
Lulu’s Fund has been a key partner every step of the way. In July, nearly 300 animal-lovers came together under a beautiful Jackson sky surrounded by puppies, live music, and a whole lot of enthusiasm, to celebrate these life-saving impacts at their annual New Leash on Life.
At the event’s culmination, the $50,000 Lulu’s Fund Match inspired guests to invest at a record level. Each dollar raised will be invested in their rescue, adoption, education, and spay/neuter programs.
