Our fiftieth recipient, Colonel Quintin D. Jones is currently attending the 2025 AMP at Harvard Business School and serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on the Joint Staff and is the former Commanding Officer of 23d Marines, an infantry regiment based in San Bruno, CA. Previous assignments include Operating Force tours in the 2d and 3d Marine Divisions. He has commanded units at every level from platoon to regiment and also served as an Executive Officer, Operations Officer and Commanding Officer. As an executive officer, he deployed with V18 as a part of the 22d MEU, participating in Operation Dynamic Response/ Adventure Express in Kosovo in EUCOM. As a Captain and Major, he completed three deployments with V33. The first deployment was to Haditha, Iraq for OIF 05-06 as a Military Transition Team Advisor to the 1-508th Iraqi Infantry Battalion. The second deployment was to Al-Karma, Iraq for OIF 06-08.2 as the commanding officer for Force Lima. The third deployment as the battalion executive officer was to Okinawa, Japan in 2013 as a part of Forward Deployed Forces Pacific. Upon return from deployment, Quintin took over as the Regimental Operation Officer for 3rd Marine Regiment for one year. In January 2015, Colonel Jones assumed command of V13 and deployed the “Lava Dogs” to Okinawa Japan as a part of Forward Deployed Forces Pacific for a fourth deployment in the operating forces. While in command of 23d Marines, he deployed the Regiment to Fort Picket, VA in support of OPERATION ALLIES WELCOME to aide in the resettlement of Afghanistan refugees in the United States. Outside of the operating forces, Quintin served at Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, as a platoon commander at 2d FAST in Yorktown, VA with deployments to 6th Fleet in Italy and 5th Fleet in Bahrain, Operations Officer and Parade Commander at Marine Barracks Washington, Marine Aide de Camp to the 29th Chief of Naval Operations, J7 Exercise Planner for Joint Forces Command Naples, NATO, and N35 Future Operational Planning Group Lead for CNE/CNA/C6F in Naples, Italy and the II MEF Forward Coordination & Liaison Element Lead for Naval & Marine Corps Integration. Quintin received his B.S. in Political Science from the United States Naval Academy. He also holds an M.A. in Military Studies from the Australian National University, an Executive MBA from the Naval Post Graduate School, and attended the NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy.
Quintin and his wife, Valentina, have two children.
