Our thirty-eighth recipient, Colonel (Ret) Ricardo Miagany, completed the AMP at Harvard Business School in May 2022. Ricardo recently retired and was awarded the Navy Distinguished Service Medal for his performance of duty and 30 years of service to the Marine Corps. He previously served as the Chief of Staff for U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific in Camp H.M. Smith, HI. He is a Marine artillery officer with over ten years of service abroad and operational deployments in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Inherent Resolve. Ricardo has commanded Marines throughout his career from the platoon to the regiment level including 3d Battalion, 12th Marines in Okinawa, Japan, and 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, CA. He has also held key staff assignments in operations, training, and resourcing at the Combined/Allied, Joint, and Service levels with Combined Forces Command/U.S. Forces Korea, NATO Joint Forces Command Naples Italy, Naval Forces Europe-Africa and U.S. Sixth Fleet, and with the Programs & Resources department of Headquarters Marine Corps. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1994, he also holds two Master’s degrees: one in Military Operational Art & Science from Air University (2008) and one in National Security & Strategic Studies from the Naval War College (2013).
Ricardo and his wife, Melissa, have two children.
