Col (Ret) Todd P. Simmons

Our twelfth recipient, Colonel (Ret) Todd P. Simmons, completed the AMP at Harvard Business School in May 2015.  Todd retired from the Marine Corps in November 2023 after serving as the Director, Expeditionary Warfare School Quantico, VA.  He has served in a variety of billets in the operating forces from platoon commander to MEU Commander, eventually serving in all three MEFs and all four Marine Divisions.  He has been assigned to Inspector-Instructor Duty, served as a monitor in Manpower and Reserve Affairs and led the MAGTF Staff Training Program.  He was a Strategic Advisor to the Commander International Security Assistance Force-Afghanistan and a Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.  Todd participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and contingency operations in the Balkans.  He deployed to sea multiple times with Marine Expeditionary Units from the East Coast, West Coast and Okinawa.  Todd is a native of Watervliet, NY, and received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University.  He is also a graduate of the Amphibious Warfare School, School of Advanced Military Studies, and the National War College.

Todd and his wife, Erika, have two children.
