Our twenty-ninth recipient, Colonel (Ret) Wendy J. Goyette, completed the AMP at Harvard Business School in October 2019 and retired in July 2023 after serving over 30 years with the Marine Corps. Her last assignments were as the Chief of Staff and G3 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. She previously commanded Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group and was responsible for the operation and defense of the Marine Corps’ enterprise network. She has also commanded Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Kings Bay, GA, and Marine Combat Training Company, Parris Island, SC. As a career communications officer, Wendy served three tours with 2d and 3d Marine Logistics Groups as a Platoon Commander, G6 Operations Officer, and Assistant Chief of Staff G6, two with 2d Marine Aircraft Wing as a Platoon Commander with Marine Wing Support Squadron-272 and Assistant Chief of Staff G6, and one with Marine Corps Systems Command in Albany, GA, and as the Program Manager for Logistics Information Systems. Wendy also served with the Joint Staff J6 and deployed as the J6 Operations Officer for Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan in Kabul. She was stationed twice at Parris Island as a Series Commander, Company Executive Officer, and Battalion Executive Officer. Wendy is a native of Muscoda, WI. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1993 with a BS in Political Science and a Certificate in Criminal Justice. She also graduated with distinction from the Naval War College earning a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies and has a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Norwich University.
Wendy is married to Curt Goyette, a retired Marine Limited Duty Officer Major, and they have two children.
