It was such a privilege to have Marine Week in our own backyard this year! The United States Marine Corps partnered with the city of Phoenix to bring Marine Week to the Valley of the Sun, and it proved to be a huge success.
Many members of our Fellowship Family came to Phoenix and took the time to reconnect – joining us in celebrating the week and participating in many Marine Corps related activities. Events included a flight on an MV-22 over Phoenix; opening ceremonies at the Civic Space Park with the Silent Drill Team; a rowdy “Tribe” dinner at the Biltmore Hotel; martial arts and military dog demonstrations; MCA leadership lunch at Arizona Country Club; Marine Night at the ballpark watching Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers; an early Saturday morning hike in the Phoenix Preserve followed by a hearty Mexican lunch with margaritas at Blancos; tour of the new Day Biltmore Residence; brunch that included a Sgt. Reckless Presentation by Robin Hutton (author) and Jocelyn Russell (sculptor); a Fellowship update meeting at The Day Family Office; Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Annual Dinner at the Westin Kierland resort; and farewell shots of scotch at Tim’s Bar.
New memories were made while celebrating our patriots, thanking them for their support and demonstrating why the Marine Corps is to be honored for serving our great Nation.
