Since an important mission of the Foundation is to improve facilities and programs at educational institutions that strengthen free enterprise and economic development, we are delighted to announce an exciting new collaboration with Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU). The Foundation’s $300,000 investment will specifically benefit the SWOSU Business Enterprise Center (BEC), which links entrepreneurs and organizations to helpful tools and resources including financing, business planning, economic modelling, and much more.
The Foundation’s contribution will provide much-needed capital improvements to the BEC, and allow for expansion of the BEC’s workforce training programming and activities. The Foundation gift will also provide endowed funding to support ongoing needs of the BEC into the future. To recognize the significance of the Foundation’s support, the BEC will be re-named “The Timothy T. Day Business Enterprise Center.”
“I will always be grateful to the people of Oklahoma for the vital role they played in making Bar-S Foods a successful company and an industry leader – so I’m excited about this partnership and look forward to helping the SWOSU community,” commented Tim. Bar-S Foods currently has four operations in Oklahoma (Clinton, Elk City, Altus, and Lawton), and employs over 1,500 people including 50 SWOSU graduates.
“The generous investment of the Timothy T. Day Foundation in the SWOSU BEC will allow our institution to more effectively equip local businesses to assess new technologies, to analyze markets, and to deliver needed internships and external experiences for our students. We are truly honored to join the family of causes that have benefitted from the philanthropic and visionary spirit of Tim and Sandy Day,” said SWOSU President Dr. Randy L. Beutler.
