Our third recipient, Lieutenant General David L. Odom, completed the AMP at Harvard Business School in October 2012. An infantry officer and veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, David is currently serving as the Director for Operations (DJ3), Joint Staff at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Throughout his career, he has commanded at all levels from infantry rifle platoon through Marine Division. He has also served on staff at The Basic School, the Infantry Officer Course, the MAGTF Staff Training Program, United States Special Operations Command,III Marine Expeditionary Force, and the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. David is a distinguished graduate of The Basic School; Amphibious Warfare School; the Marine Corps Command and Staff College (Col Bevan G. Cass Award recipient); the School of Advanced Warfighting (Gen Clifton B. Cates Award recipient); and the Marine Corps War College. He is a 1991 graduate of The Citadel with a BA in English and has masters’ degrees in military, operational, and strategic studies from Marine Corps University.
David and his wife, Dr. Michelle Trusso (LtCol, USMC ret), have two children.
