General and Mrs. Amos Honored with Service Dogs

Working with the Semper Fi Fund, the Timothy T. Day Foundation was able to acquire the naming rights with Warrior Canine Connection for two puppies that will one day become service dogs.  These two puppies have been officially named “Tamer” and “Bon Bon” in honor of General and Mrs. Amos and will continue the Amos’ legacy of rendering service to wounded Marines.

General James F. Amos, USMC (Ret) was the 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps.  With a call sign of Tamer, he is the first Marine Corps aviator to serve as Commandant.  General Amos retired from the Marine Corps on December 1, 2014 after 44 years of service.

Mrs. Bonnie Amos, known as “Bon Bon” to friends and family, was the First Lady of the Marine Corps during General Amos’ time as Commandant.  She is on the Board of Directors of the Semper Fi Fund and involved with many other philanthropic activities.
