MCRD Museum Foundation’s annual fundraising event called the Globe & Anchor Gala took place on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Marriott Mission Valley Hotel in San Diego, California. Tim was the Guest of Honor Speaker and discussed how his service in the Marine Corps – more than 50 years ago – has positively impacted his life. The experience had an enormous influence on his core values, personal traits, and character – and that influence still guides his actions to this day. Tim described the many benefits of Marine Corps training, which he pointed out are priceless gifts that serve us well throughout life and have a lot to do with who we become professionally and personally. His closing tribute to all Marines “in every clime and place” produced a standing ovation from the approximate 400 guests attending the event.
The Globe & Anchor Gala event proved to be a very successful fundraiser with all proceeds going to the MCRD Museum Foundation. Their mission is the preservation of Marine Corps history and to promote a deeper understanding of the historical role of the United States Marine Corps and the men and women who have served as Marines.
