The Timothy T. Day Foundation had the opportunity to host the reunification between Military Working Dog, Irk, a 9-year-old German Shepherd, and his former handler and best friend, Staff Sergeant Sheridyn Rupp. The two had not seen each other in a year, and the heartwarming reunion took place in our office on October 18, 2021. The joy and relief shining on both of their faces when they saw each other again reminds us why the American Humane military reunification program is so important.
We were fortunate to be a part of this reunion, and enjoyed meeting both Staff Sergeant Rupp and Irk. Happy retirement to Irk!
